Counting Down!

By this time next week we should have Cameron in our arms!  All the travel plans are set and we are busily packing our new purple luggage with red ribbons with all sorts of stuff.  We'll start in Beijing for a couple days of touring.  Tienanmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, all are on the agenda.  Really looking forward to showing the history to Lainey. The tours are first to feel the culture and get used to the time difference, so she wasn't with us when we were there in 2010. This will be 5 years later almost to the day. We first were able to hold Lainey on January 18th, it will be January 12th for Cam.

We are going to be a big traveling group too.  Looks like 7 or more families so far from all sides of the country.  Thanks to facebook and social media many of us are already connected by words but not by face, so we are attaching red ribbons to our bags. Then when we gather in airports we can say hey are you going to China too, and hangout more!  I remember last time sitting in the airport terminal waiting to board the 747 and looking around and wondering if anyone was on the same mission!  Plus we are so fortunate to be traveling with a family we traveled with in 2010!  Think of the odds of that one!  We made great friends that we obviously still keep in touch with and hope to this time too.

For all those Dr. Nefarios out there (Despicable Me reference for those who can watch something other than animated movies!)  yes we are being upfront about our home being empty while we travel, but believe me there are more eyes of neighbors watching our house than you could count so don't even think about it!  This whole process of giving a forever home to Cameron is more important and we want to share it with others who may feel the tug of a red thread at their hearts too and decide to help another child looking for that love of a family.  Stay tuned!  I promise plenty of pictures await!
