It's been a full day! We woke up at 5 AM to head about 90 minutes north of Beijing to a portion of The Great Wall. After waking quite a lot yesterday, the challenge today was the steps of ancient contractors. Let's just say they didn't have building inspectors when the wall was constructed and the steps are quite uneven. One is a standard size and the next three are about 2 feet tall. And the angle of the steps can make your gym stair climber look like a playground toy. Lainey and I got a decent climb in when the crowds really picked up and she realized she had to go back down the way she came! She was doing her best to keep up with the teenagers admiring her Olaf Hat. Then we visited a Jade factory for souvenirs and lunch. Continued back into Beijing driving past the Olympic village area from 2008. The birds nest stadium and aqua cube natatorium are right next to each other. Finally we saw an acrobatic show. All the typical balancing 12 women on a bike, climbing up 10 chairs stacked on top of each other and balancing in your forehead, and riding 8 motorcycles around and around in a wire globe. Just finished packing for our flight tomorrow to Guangzhou where we must leave the hotel at 6:30 am for, so now it's time to sleep! So this post is short but we are moving to the next step. We have had the history lesson and fought off the jet lag, now it's time to make history for our family by bringing Cameron aboard! Less than two days away now!
